About ACDP-Kenya

Association of Community Development Practitioners – Kenya (ACDP-K), is a Kenyan network of community development practitioners registered in 2017 under the Societies Act. Our aim is to bring together community development academicians and practitioners to network, share experiences, capacity build as well as professionalise the practice of community development in Kenya.

ACDP-K, as part of safeguarding public interest subscribes to best practices in community development and supports observance of international standards in community development work and practice.

We are a corporate member of the International Association for Community Development (iacdglobal.org).

Membership

Membership for the Association consists of Community Development (CD) Practitioners. These are individuals who have undergone intensive training on community development practice with special focus on the approaches, methods, principles and application in development processes. Their work basically entails working with and for communities and organized groups to bring about positive change within the communities respective areas and socio-economic development for improved livelihoods.

Membership Eligibility

  • To Kenyan citizens with training in Community Development or its equivalent from any reorganized and accredited institution within or outside the country from DIPLOMA level and above.
  • To suitably qualified community development practitioners over the age of eighteen (18) years Subject to the approval of the Committee and upon payment of a membership fee of Kshs. 1500/- and an annual subscription fee of Shs.2500/- to be paid at the of each year to coincide with the date of payment
